Cobram Secondary CollegeOur College community is focussed on helping students to grow in all five areas of
development – physical, intellectual, social, emotional and moral. We effectively manage human and physical resources to support the growth of all our students. Our College services the rural area of Cobram/Barooga and surrounds. We provide educational experiences for students Yr 7–12, approximately 555 students attend. Enrolments are drawn from seven local government and non-government feeder schools, significant enrolments are drawn from NSW Our mission is to provide a challenging educational environment which places “the student at the centre”. The overall College values are based on fairness, accountability, integrity, consistency, co-operation and a positive attitude. The daily student/teacher learning and engagement values are ACE: Achievement – I am a learner. Co-operation – I am responsible. Esteem – I am respectful. Middle School, Yrs 7-9 has an innovative program which provides students a challenging and engaging individual pathway allowing for acceleration and interventions. Performance in English and Mathematics is a priority and additional teaching resources are allocated in these areas. Senior School, Yr 10-12 focuses on Managed Individual Pathways designed around a vertical system that enables students to pursue courses which best meets their needs. Student can complete a range of certificates including VCE, VCAL, VET and ASBA’s An extensive music program is offered and opportunities abound in areas of Debating, SRC, Sport, Community Links, Cultural activities, Advance, Production, Arts Events Camps, International excursions & exchanges, and many subject based excursions. To fully support our students resources are allocated to provided a Student Welfare Coordinator, School Nurse, Disabilities & Impairment program staff, Pathways Manager and a Student Attendance & Data Officer. ICT provision enables student an excellent ratio of 1:2 for computers and other technology supports learning in the 21stcentury. Yr 7 are involved in an iPad program, Yr 10 and 11 students are issued with netbooks. Our exceptionally maintained grounds enhance our environment, plenty of covered and grassed areas are available to students |
